Calf Implants

Description

Calf implants are a form of body implants used to enhance the appearance and balance of the calf. Implants are made of a firm semi solid rubberized silicone material that fits in front of the bones without absorbing into the body. The material is approved by the FDA and has shown its low risk of complication for many years.

Procedure Length

Usually one to two hours.

Side Effects

Swelling, bruising, some scarring, redness and temporary loss in sensitivity.

Recovery

Side effects should subside within a few weeks. Return to work within two weeks. Refrain from vigorous activities for about three weeks. Consult your doctor for proper recovery tips.

Risks

Although rare, muscle or nerve damage may occur. Asymmetry may occur, which would be corrected through more treatments.

Results

Usually the implants are long lasting. Age, gravity, weight fluctuations and time will effect surrounding skin and muscles.
