Collagen Injections

Procedure Length
Procedures last typically between fifteen minutes and 1 hour.
Side Effects
After the procedure is complete you may experience slight burning, minor swelling, redness or bruising in the treated areas. Since the injections are done by needles, you may see small scabbing in those areas. These symptoms usually subside within two to three days.
Recovery
You will typically be able to return to normal functioning activities immediately after. You may experience some minor side effects which typically subside in two to three days. Consult your doctor about proper recovery.
Risks
Risks from collagen injections are typically minimal. Infections, allergic reactions, and scarring are most common risks of procedure.
Results
Although results vary by patient, results typically last for three to six months. The body will eventually absorb the collagen over time, but collagen injections provide good short term results. If you’re looking for longer lasting results, you should look into Restylane or more invasive procedures.
