Facelift
Description:

Facelifts are common procedures for people with elasticity in the skin of the face. There are many variations of facelifts, some more expensive and complex than others. From Thread Lifts, to superficial musculoaponeurotic system (SMAS) lifts, there are many variations depending on your budget, recovery time desired, and amount of work needed. Facelifts are designed to assist in defying the aging process by minimizing fine lines and wrinkles, skin pigment changes, loss of elasticity, and loss of volume in the skin.

Procedure Length:
Two to four hours on average.
Side Effects:
Bleeding, swelling, bruising, nerve loss, and a tight feeling in the skin are all temporary side effects.

Risks:
Similar to most procedures, infection, bleeding, and scarring are most common risks. Some feel injury to facial nerves which is usually temporary.
Results:
Facelifts typically last for years, often times greater than ten years.
Patient Status:
Usually outpatient, but some may opt to stay overnight.
