Forehead Lift
Description:

Forehead lifts, also known as brow lifts or eyebrow lifts, are all words used interchangeably to improve the appearance around the forehead from wrinkles, lines, and other signs of aging. Forehead lifts also correct drooping eyelids. Forehead lifts are most common amongst patients between 40 and 70 years of age. The procedure entails the forehead skin be lifted, excess tissue is removed, muscles are repositioned or removed, and the eyebrows are lifted. Extra skin in any of these areas will then be trimmed away. There are two common types of brow lifts, consult your physician to find out which is right for you.

Procedure Length: 
Forehead lifts usually take between one and two hours.
Side Effects: 
Bleeding, discomfort, swelling, temporary loss in sensitivity, itching, and unusual feelings near forehead.
Recovery: 
Back to work within about ten days. Vigorous physical activities should be avoided for a couple weeks. Also, direct exposure to sunlight should be minimized.
Risks: 
Infection, bleeding, and other minor complications are rare. Some patients won't be able to move their eyebrows or forehead, and sensitivity is lost. Also, scars may develop around incision area.
Results: 
Long lasting, usually many years. Forehead lifts don't stop the aging process, they only improve the skin temporarily.

Outpatient. Usually done in doctor's office or hospital.
