Labiaplasty
Description:

Labiaplasty is a woman's procedure used to trim down and shape the labia minora (inner lips) and/or the labia majora (outer lips) of the vagina. The reason the labia may be elongated, stretched, or asymmetrical may be the result of many reasons including childbirth, sexual intercourse, genetics and/or the aging process. Labiaplasty is done for a number of reasons which may include genital pain, increased sexual satisfatction, and cosmetic reasons. Labiaplasty is not the only type of cosmetic procedure performed on the vagina. Vaginal rejuvenation involves tightening the vaginal area which may increase sexual pleasure.

Procedure Length: 
After initial consultation, the procedure usually takes about two hours.
Side Effects: 
Swelling, tenderness, redness, pain, bruising, and numbness in vaginal area.
Recovery: 
During recovery sexual intercourse should be avoided for about four weeks. Exercise can be resumed after three weeks. Return to work in about two weeks.
Risks: 
Bleeding, infection, bruising, numbness, asymmetry, pain, decreased feeling in the area, and pigmentation changes.
Results: 
Results are long lasting and may be permanent. Results will depend on propery recovery and care. Consult your physician about proper care and recovery.
